Learn how to dye fabric using Fiber reactive Procion MX dyes.  This class will teach how to use a dye bath, or immersion dyeing, to get the basics of and safety using Procion MX.

In this class, students will be introduced to basic surface design techniques. 

Students will learn how to thicken powdered fiber reactive dyes with print paste, how to mix colors, how to apply dyes onto fabric and how to set these colors using soda ash and steam.  We will be making our own color wheel and learning basic color theory. 

This class is for those who are more technically minded and who are interested in learning the basic processes of fiber reactive dyes before applying any type of creativity.
