Patched and Dyed - A Workshop by & For the Community

Every last Saturday from 10am - 4pm

Do you have clothes you love that have suffered from a lot of wear and tear?

patched indigo and rust

Don’t throw them away!

Bring them to Patched and Dyed, a day long workshop open to the community and hosted by Textiles West at Cottonwood Center for the Arts in the Thread Lab and New Hue Textile Studio. The workshop will be held on the last Saturday of each month and we will be on hand to help you repair, refresh and renew those favorite garments! Learn how to sew on buttons, repair ripped seams, and patch holes with simple or decorative mending. Garments that are stained, faded or the wrong color can be over-dyed too. Mending is a practice of repair that helps us preserve our clothes, keeps garments out of landfills and brings us back to center with the meditative practice of stitching.

Pease bring freshly washed items without fabric softener for best results. Natural fabrics can be over-dyed. We are not able to over-dye polyester or man-made fabrics. Our suggested donation is $5, but we embrace a pay-what-you-can, pay-it-forward concept to enable everyone to learn these skills. If you cannot donate, please don't hesitate to attend the workshop at no cost. Send us an email at This email address is being protected from spambots.
